Service Description

Yin yoga and Nidra class This class is an invitation to step out of the busyness of the world and return home to yourself. A sacred pause, a practice of self-care, inquiry and compassion. We will begin with gentle Yin postures, allowing the body to soften and settle, Poses are held in stillness, giving us time to slow the breath and become present with sensation. Here we meet our edges with kindness, no force, no striving, allowing the body to yield and open. As the body softens the breath becomes our anchor, inhaling and exhaling the subtle movement of energy (prana) the life force that flows through us. Deepening awareness, listening inward, becoming intimate with the quiet intelligence of the body. This slowing down allows tension to melt away, the nervous system to settle, the deeper connective tissues and fascia are gently nourished, whilst the mind begins to quiet. Preparing for and flowing into the guided practice of yoga Nidra, the ancient practice of yogic sleep. Here the body rests while the consciousness remains aware, guiding us to the subtle layers of being. In this space we can drop beyond the thinking mind, into deeper levels of awareness where restoration, insight and healing may naturally arise. A moment to nurture the body, calm the mind and invitation to leave feeling calm, balanced and renewed, immersed in the gifts of Yin and Yoga Nidra, the simple yet powerful medicine of slowing down.
